WILLIAM GEORGE BISHOP
William George Bishop passed away peacefully in Newmarket at the Southlake Regional Health Centre on Monday, February 18th in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Helen, beloved father of Timothy (Susan) and Alexandra (Rich); Proud grandfather of Aidan, Caleb and Isla; Survived by brother Albert (Lynn) and Isobel (Lorne); Brother-in-law of Pat (Grant) and Bill (Sandy); proud uncle to all of his nieces and nephews and dear son of the late Mary and Alec Bishop. After graduating from the University of Toronto with a degree in mechanical engineering, George worked for Massey Fergusson before taking the entrepreneurial leap to run his own business, Bishop Tractor - a role that he enjoyed for 36 years. The celebration of George's life will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at the Trinity United Church, located at 461 Park Ave (corner of Park and Main) in Newmarket. The visitation is at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am and then a luncheon at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Newmarket Trinity United Church's Mission and Service Fund where he was an active member, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
