Obituary for Robert Cecil Gardner
GARDNER, Robert Cecil - Passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, on Saturday December 8, 2018, in his 68th year. Loving husband of Jennifer (nee Wood) for 43 years. Beloved father of Meredith (Sylvain Lafond-Phesans) and Alison. Enormously proud grandfather of Eldon, William, and Etienne.
Robert started as an electrician and became a multi-term president of Local 1701 of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (now Unifor). He devoted 20 years to coaching youth baseball and ultimately running the Scarborough Village Baseball Association. Additionally he was a longtime member of Lions Clubs International and a hardworking member of the Newmarket Car Club.
Friends may call at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket on Friday December 14, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11 a.m.
