Obituary for Gregory John Montpool

Gregory John Montpool passed away quietly on June 1, 2019, at the age of 71. Proud father of Tom (wife Lisa) of Newmarket, and Andrew (wife Rhea) of Nashville, and loving Papa of Eric, Charlotte, Nathan, Elena, and Avery Rhea. Survived by former wife and constant friend, Madeline. Born February 25, 1948, in Toronto, he was predeceased by father George, mother Thelma, and brother Jerry.
Greg started his career with Bell Canada, then became a Snap-On Tools dealer in Toronto and Kitchener. After leaving Snap-On for several years in business with brother-in-law, Wally Menger, Greg completed a long and successful career with Snap-On in Newmarket and Barrie. Greg enjoyed cheesy action movies and a good (or bad) game of euchre. His summer weekends were highlighted by pointing his motorcycle in a random direction and then following his nose. In his later years, Greg masterfully handcrafted wooden models that will be cherished by his grandkids. But above any of these interests, Greg loved spending time with family.
According to Greg's wishes, cremation has already taken place. Friends and loved ones will be asked to gather on Saturday August 3, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Newmarket (1035 Wayne Dr,) to share memories and celebrate Greg's life. Memorial donations may be made to the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
