Joseph F. Tressler, 86, of Bradford, ON passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Southlake Regional Health Center in Newmarket, ON after a battle with cancer.

Joe was born on March 18, 1932 in Obdach Austria. Son to Josef Palenski and Maria (Tressler) Palenski. While in Austria, Joe studied Engineering and enjoyed racing motor cycles. In 1953, Joe ventured to Canada and rode the rails to explore his new home. On September 1, 1959, Joe married the love of his life, Betty Buelens of Leuven, Belgium. Joe was an avid skier and a member of the Beaver Valley Ski Club for over 40 years. Joe was also involved in various organizations, most recently with the St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church and Probus of Newmarket.

Joe’s pride and joy was his family. Joe is survived by his wife Betty, his daughters Michele Beach and Martine Legate, and his son David Tressler, his sons-in-law Andy Beach and Jerry Legate, and his daughter-in-law Sylvana Tressler, and his seven absolute treasures, grandchildren David, Cassie, and Johnny Beach, Grace Legate and Kristian, Daniel and Athena Tressler. He is also survived by his sister Renate Koller in Austria.

Funeral services will be held at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church at 432 Ontario Street in Newmarket on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre.
