Lemieux, Paul Joseph

Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at 63 years of age. Loving husband and soulmate of Tammy (nee Bishop) for 32 years. Beloved and cherished father of Nicole and Christopher (Kristine). Proud “grandfather” of his grand kitties Ripley, Parker and Barlow.
Brother of Gene, Henry, Lynne and Diane (Nick). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Dear son of Rita Lemieux (Camy) and the late Lawrence Lemieux. Also proud “father” of his “other kids” Christie, Alex, Amanda, Rose, Merissa and Robert. Paul will be missed by many friends and family, especially his long-time hockey buddy Ivy.

Paul was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie. He moved to Newmarket in 1984. Paul met Tammy in 1985, married in 1986 when their journey and wonderful life began. Paul held many jobs throughout their marriage however retired young due to his disability. He was truly a jack of all trades, master of none. Once retired he focused on raising his two children, encouraging and inspiring them to be all they could be. Paul had a passion for cooking and sports, especially his beloved Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Blue Jays and WWE.

Special thanks to the caring staff on the Cancer floor (6th), Dr. Kavanaugh (thoracic surgeon), Dr. Baguio (palliative care) and many of the Nurses of SRT, especially Michael Cropman.

Friends and family may visit at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S. Newmarket on Sunday March 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Monday March 18th at 11:00 a.m. followed by internment at Newmarket Cemetery. Reception to follow at 280 Davis Drive in the Community Room for snacks and refreshments.
