HOOVER, Herbert – Passed away peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice, Newmarket on February 18, 2019 in his 94th year. Loving husband of Doris Hoover (formerly Zimmerman). Predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Agnes Hoover (nee Olfert). Beloved father of Paulette Anderson (Kurt), Carol Sefton, John (Irina), Laura Hughes Guest (Randy), Shirley Sproxton (Jeff) and the late Wesley. Dear stepfather of Odie Goddard (Mark), Franz Zimmerman (Martha), Esther Papais (Michael) and Timothy Zimmeran (Charla). Proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren. Survived by his cousin Eldon Wianko (June). Herb served in England as a medic during WWII. He gave over and above to many charities in Canada and around the World. He donated blood over 50 times with the Red Cross. He loved gardening, outdoors and entertaining, but would most want to be remembered for his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A viewing will be held at Grace Church, 221 Carlson Drive, Newmarket on Sunday February 24, 2019 from 1:30 – 3 p.m. A funeral service will follow the viewing in the Sanctuary.
