Obituary for Barbara May Bell (Scroggie)
Bell, Barbara - Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre on Monday, February 4, 2019 shortly after her 94th Birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband Robert Bell. Beloved Mother of Patricia Queen, Mother-in-law of Brian Queen, and very proud Grandmother to Alex and Graham. Sister of Ann Izon and the late Jim Scroggie. Aunt of Skip Izon and the late Lucy Izon.
Barbara moved to her Fairy Lake Garden apartment in Newmarket in 2000 to be closer to her daughter and family, including her good friend, the late Louise Queen. She made many good friends over the years there. She was embraced by the Queen's, who always made her feel a part of their large family. Many thanks to the kind and caring staff of Southlake Regional Heath Centre who cared for Barb.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday February 16, 2019. Visitation from 1-2 pm, followed by a prayer, tribute and music. Barb gave to many charities including the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Princess Margaret Foundation, the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to any of the above would be much appreciated.
